വ്യാവസായിക വാനിലയുടെ (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം  [[Vanilla planifolia]]) ഒരു വന്യബന്ധുവാണ് '''''വാനില ആൻഡമാനിക്ക'''''. വാനില എസ്സെൻസ് ഇതിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഉത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് [[ആന്തമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകൾ|ആന്തമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകളിൽ]] വളരുന്ന  ഒരു കാടൻ ഇനം ആണ്.<ref>''Geoinformatics for tropical ecosystems'', by P. ഇത് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തും ജവഹർലാൽ നഹറു ട്രോപ്പിക്കൽ ബൊട്ടാണിക്കൽ ഗാർഡനിലും ഇതിന്റെ ശേഖരം ഉണ്ട്, ഈ ഇനത്തിന്റെ തനത് സ്വഭാവത്തെ ക്കുറിച്ച് സംശയങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്. തായ് ലാന്ഡ് ഇനമായ വാനില അബിഡ യുമായി അഭിന്നതയും (സീഡൻഫാഡൻ എന്ന സസ്യശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞൻ) കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്, .<ref>Mathew, S.
